Adrian Lo of ALo Design has shared with us his winning entry for the Hong Kong Eastern Harborfront Street Furniture Design Competition. Images of the project as well as a brief summary of both Adrian’s project and the competition itself can be seen after the break.
DESIGN PHILOSOPHY FOR THE ENTRY
Simple but conscious designs to highlight the Eastern District Waterfront as public-enjoyable urban green extension. It is designed to promote inclusive inter-action and exchange, also the fresh, harmonious and healthy image of the District. Sustainable, modular, easy maintenance, effectively low cost and barrier-free are fully addressed. This all-in-one design stands out with its ability to adapt any target location, both in size and function.
The design functions sustainably and at the same time achieves an inclusive solution to encourage every public to use the furniture piece. (i.e. environmental friendly, long-lasting and people-oriented.)
